Stand Up magazine is dedicated to giving young people a platform in UK politics. Stand Up is all about empowering young people in politics. The decision to leave the European Union silenced a majority of young voices in political debate, when our generation voted to remain. Stand Up magazine aims to challenge that refusal to listen to what young people want. We want young people to be engaged, enthused and effective in political debate, and to to have a say in our future.

Stand Up Magazine is a registered community interest company. We’ve taken this decision to be as transparent as possible as a media platform but also because we are committed to building a hub that can empower young people in political debate.

The Stand Up Team

Steph Farnsworth is the editor of Stand Up. Steph originally didn’t want to produce a political magazine, believing politics was broken, but Hannah and Siarlot convinced her otherwise (they are two of the only humans Steph can tolerate). Steph is committed to ensuring Stand Up works to produce intersectional features empowering all young people. You can follow Steph’s rantings about humanity on Twitter.

Hannah Parker is the sub-editor of Stand Up, as well as the one who originally came up with the idea to create a publication that could empower young people in politics. Hannah’s drive to ensure that young voices are heard in politics led Stand Up’s first issue to be an incredible 75 pages. She’s also created the ‘Nerdom’ section, out of her passion for comics and films. You can follow Hannah on Twitter here.

Head of design, and all round visionary of Stand Up, Siarlot Lloyd is the force behind the magazine’s bold aesthetic. Siarlot designed our merchandise range and has put the idea of empowerment behind everything the magazine creates. She even made us go viral on Twitter with her coverage of the March for Europe in early 2017. Ironically, Siarlot doesn’t use Twitter much but you can get her to tweet more here.
